About the CANDELS Workshop

The CANDELS team is hosting its annual team meeting at UCSC on Aug 4, 5, and 6 (through noon on Sunday), to be followed by the Santa Cruz Galaxy Workshop. Sessions will be held in Room 102 of the Interdisciplinary Sciences Building. A team dinner will be held on Aug. 5. The foci are on recent scientific results from CANDELS and related data and planning for JWST and ALMA.

All members of the CANDELS mailing list are invited, as are guest collaborators of Koo, Primack, Faber, and Dekel visiting Santa Cruz this summer. In order to participate and receive future email notices, you must register by July 15 (see registration link to Bookitbee below). A credit card is required. You may register and pay for more than one person using this site. Participants are responsible for their own hotel reservations and travel fees.

Lodging

There are a number of lodging options in the City of Santa Cruz, some of which provide discounts for UCSC affiliates.

Parking

Parking for the CANDELS workshop will be at the Core West parking structure on UCSC Campus. Please see the maps sections for more details

A parking permit is required for the Friday session, and can be purchased through the registration website. Parking is free on weekends.

Parking passes can be picked up on the second floor of the Core West parking lot from 8 to 10 am, Friday Aug. 4. To pick up parking passes at other times, please use a temporary parking space at the end of Red Hill Rd next to ISB. Once parked, come into the ISB building and find the organizers to pick it up. If you are unable to find us, please call the organizers at 831-471-7439.
