Draft Agenda for November meeting is now available
Message to Members from Co-Chairs:
Dear Members of the SSC:
Our next SSC meeting will be held in Santa Cruz on November 3, 2008. We want to urge all of you to plan on attending for the full 1.5 days of this and future meetings. Keck's pre-eminence among the world's optical/IR observatories stems in no small measure from the quality and active involvement of the faculty and staff of its member and partner institutions. One very important function of the SSC is to help harness this talent and engage the user community to the fullest reasonable extent in the governance of our Observatory. We consider it essential that, at the conclusion of our meetings, we have reached a consensus on the issues before us, and that we have generated the draft of reports that can be widely disseminated among users (sensitive and confidential items aside) and serve as the permanent record of our deliberations and decisions. To keep our community as informed and as enfranchised as is practicable, the SSC meetings must allow sufficient time to fully address the agenda items, as well as generate these reports.
We thank you in advance for your willingness to take this additional time out of your very busy schedules.
