Stellar Populations of high-z AGN

I am using Bruzual & Charlot (2003) model fits to 5-band SEDs to analyze the stellar populations of Active Galactic Nuclei at high redshift.  We combine Keck Laser Guide Star Adaptive Optics imaging at 2.2 microns with B,V,i, and z imaging from the Advanced Camera for Surveys (ACS) onboard HST.

Our pilot study of eight AGN similar to those pictured on the left (XID 594, 155, and 266 in GOODS-South) indicate a tendency for X-ray- or [OIII]-luminous AGN to harbor young stellar populations distributed throughout the AGN host.

In my early graduate career, I developed a photometric metallicity technique for individual FGK dwarfs with an [Fe/H] precision of ±0.13 dex.  This quality is only attainable for stars brighter than V = 9 in both the Hipparcos and 2MASS IR Catalogs.  We  estimate [Fe/H] for 400,000 stars in the Tycho/2MASS overlap list, 100,000 of which are brighter than V = 10 and absent from Hipparcos.  These data are available here.
