Research Interest:

Joseph Miller is currently concentrating his research on extragalactic objects that show activity at high luminosity, including quasi-stellar objects, BL Lacertae objects, and related active galactic nuclei. The aim of the research is to investigate the nature of the central energy source itself as well as the surrounding environment. Observations are performed with the CCD spectrograph and an extremely powerful spectropolarimeter on the Shane Telescope.
