What is climbing all about? Pretty hard to say. I won't try to explain it here.

Here are short lists of my favorite climbs in Tuolumne Meadows

and Yosemite Valley. Soon to come, Squamish.

And here are some climbing shots from days gone by. I started climbing in 1973 with Jay Bolemon and Allen Mathews. We lived in Florida at the time and made our trips (14 hours one way) to North Carolina's Linville Gorge and Georgia's Yonah Mountain. Got the climbing bug in a big way and by 1976 was making an annual summer climbing road trip, usually to Yosemite. Had lots of great climbing adventures with Paul Doherty (now at the Exploratorium), Bill Frey (we went climbing twice while in Florida, he dropped out of school at the University of Florida and moved to Yosemite for 10 years) and Steve Mitchell (U Washington Math).
