I've got the Linux running on two machines at home. An IBM Aptiva S9 and a Hitachi 4360 laptop. I went with the RedHat CDROM distribution (4.1 then upgrade to 5.0) and did not have too many problems with the installation. When I get a minute I'll describe the procedure I used to load them up.
