PURPOSE
The purpose of this workshop is to provide an introduction to the goals and objectives of the NSF's recently instituted Center for Adaptive Optics (AO). The speakers will present an introduction to AO science and technology. The CfAO has a number of nodes in Northern California, including UC Santa Cruz, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, and UC Berkeley. The primary objective is to enhance awareness of the CfAO amongst young, local researchers, especially grad students and postdocs. However, the entire community is welcome to attend.
