Extended Groth Survey observations
The following plots use a 2 degree x 2 degree image of the Second Digital
Sky Survey obtained from the Canadian Astronomical Data Centre, as a
background to show a partial selection of observational data in the
extended Groth Survey (EGS).
The central coordinates used for this plot were RA = 14:19:12.4 Dec = +52:43:42.
The field centers for the individual DEEP2 pointings are
| Field | RA | Dec. |
| 1/1 | 14 15 29 | 52 08 19 |
| 1/2 | 14 17 55 | 52 35 07 |
| 1/3 | 14 20 21 | 53 01 55 |
| 1/4 | 14 22 47 | 53 28 43 |
- Region surveyed by DEEP2+ DEIMOS .
The white boxes represent the U of Hawaii imaging by Kaiser and
Luppino at CFHT, while the yellow boxes represent a portion of
DEIMOS DEEP2 masks. The black boxes represent planned ACS, parallel
NIC3 (red) and WFPC2 (cyan) observations in the EGS. The blue
boxes are the Spitzer observations in the EGS, and the purple
circle the EGS Galex pointing
- The above and existing HST
WFPC2 pointings in the Groth Survey Strip
- XMM and Chandra Observations
The existing and proposed Chandra data in EGS are
represented by green lines.
XMM data are represented by the white circle.
- Ground based observations . Most
are already existing datasets:
by Kaiser and Luppino (white), Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope Legacy
Survey deep sample (red), Brunner et al. Kitt Peak 4M (green),
Steidel et al. (blue). The latter is almost coincident with the
Field 14+52 of the Canada-France Redshift Survey, so this is
not shown.
- Near-Infra Red imaging by
Guzman et al. (magenta), Conselice et al and Eisenhardt et al. (Red)
- Very Large Array observations by
Fomalont et al. (full line) and planned pointings for
upcoming observations by Chapman and Faber in this region
(dotted and dashed-dotted lines)
- All of the above
