ESI (-1999) These are the Officially Supported Convervative Versions of the external tcl/tk infrastructure for UCO Lick code. Yes, they are kind of old now. They are also stable and well understood, and installed on just about every machine we own. This is the official release for the ESI control software, for PFCAM, and for HIRES Exposure Meter. There are internal components like our version of VU widgets (which cannot be reconciled with the Hobbs version because of proprietary NR code embedded in it), tclTime, libKtcl (CARA/Lick), etc. all of which are accessible from our CVS server if we trust you enough. The Tcl/Tk infrastructure code found here ALREADY HAS the Nijtmans patches and the itcl3 patch for tclx. You should not try to apply these patches again. The patches themselves are provided for a more complete fossil record. It also has a couple of the well known bugfixes; and one custom patch to the BLT tcl lib code, for the plots used in DataMynah and other local apps. Our next official Tcl/Tk version will be 8.3.1, after TclX and all the rest of the extensions are proven to work with this rev *and* we have time to upgrade everywhere. This will have to happen for DEIMOS because fitsTcl, which is required for DEIMOS mask processing, had killer bugs at revisions prior to the latest; and the latest requires Tcl 8.2 or later. DEIMOS (2000-) Use Tcl and Tk 8.3.1 Tk 8.2.0 (it will work with tcl83) BLT 2.4u VU2 (this is a Lick-specific version in which the Hobbs code has been merged with the Lick code) Sybtcl 2.5 still works fine TkTable 2.5 also works fine the plus and dash patches are no longer needed at this rev of tcltk These are the revisions of the infrastructure which will be shipped with DEIMOS.
