MAJOR ACTIVITIES/ACHIEVEMENTS (LAST 6 YEARS)
- Major ongoing programs on galaxy evolution in the environment of clusters at z~1, and galaxy formation at high redshft (from z~2~6 and beyond: four graduate students and postdocs plus a number of major HST and Keck collaborations.
- Chair, Astronomy and Astrophysics Advisory Committee. AAAC annual reports to Agencies and Congress
- Deputy PI, HST Advanced Camera (ACS): Successful completion and launch of most powerful instrument yet on the Hubble Space Telescope. Improved HST's performance by 10X.
- Completion of HST Key Project, Determining the Hubble Constant to 10%. Achieved 10% goal.
- Chair, for four years, of Space Telescope Institute Council, STIC.
- Co-organizer "Hubble's Science Legacy" workshop: science and technical issues for HST successor.
- Began involvement in the search for planets using space coronagraph (TPF-C STDT).
