Web Meeting Notes, 2/23/00

Attendees: Heather, Sandy, Dave, Barry, De

Main goals for site:

1. To archive and have readily available various DEIMOS data (such as test results) for the Team.
2. To assist Lick Observatory and CARA during Pre-Ship.

To consider:

1. Breakdown of internal vs. external users
2. Types of files we will be dealing with (see bottom of page)
3. Tools and resources necessary to create what we want - clear priorities needed

Overall site format and notes

• DEIMOS tree we outlined at meeting
• De to put search engine on site - searches file content but not file names
• DEIMOS systems and sub-systems will be broken down and used in the "Design", "Technical Information" and "Test" sections to ensure consistency of data location
  

Stage and Test Data

• Ken to manage Stage Data and will adopt ESI formatting
• Excel files are the standard for posting data on the web (ease, consistency)
  • HP data logger info can be converted into Excel files
  • Files appear in web directories as placed there, so easy to add and update
• Heather to manage test data
  • Receive files in Excel format, will ensure the file-naming convention is correct, create a .tsv file with raw data and place on web

File Naming convention for tests:

"lastname.systemabbrv.test description (if necc.).date (format:YYMMDD).## (if more than one test per system that day).xls"
Example: Osborne.STRC.nose.000223.06.xls

• Heather to create web page "Help" section for DEIMOS site (down the road) containing info on:
  1. Mailing test results and files for upload to site
  2. File naming conventions
  3. Abbreviations for DEIMOS systems
  4. Approved file type
