Hi Paul, first, let me answer your last question. Black holes live in
our own universe, and most likely do not enter any other universe.

Black holes are objects where matter has been squeezed so tight that it's
gravity becomes very strong, and nothing, not even light, can escape from
it. (Here at the Earth we can launch rockets into space; if it were
possible to live on a black hole, no rocket would be able to launch.)
You can find lots of web pages that give you information on black holes
from yahoo. Check out:
dir.yahoo.com/Science/Astronomy/Astrophysics/Stellar_Phenomena/Black_Holes/
Also, rather than type a lot of information, let me just give you a few
web sites that carry a lot of black hole information.

1) http://www.uncg.edu/~aavolkov/bh/welcome.htm -- this web site is a
college student's project on black holes, is fairly accurate, and
contains a lot of pictures.

2) http://np2.hkcampus.net/~np286213/ -- another student's black hole project

Good luck!

Sincerely,
