Hello,

Sorry for the long delay in answering your question. The brightest galaxy
in the northern circumpolar region is M81, a large spiral galaxy and the
largest member of the M81 Group, the group of galaxies closest to our own
Local Group. It has a magnitude around 8, and is visible to the naked eye
from high, dark sites (but just barely!)

Thanks for writing!

Sincerely,
