You can calculate the number of daylight hours for U.S. locations
including Alaska using the form at www.whnt19.com/weather/sun_set.htm.
For information on how the calculation works and how to do a version
of it yourself, try www.math.unl.edu/~bharbour/M106/Proj1.html.
The references at the bottom of the page are good too.
To find these, I used www.yahoo.com to search for pages containing all
three phrases: +latitude +"summer solstice" +"daylight hours"
