Hi Rebecca,
The salary
of an astronomer depends on what "level" of an astronomer you are. For
example, graduate students make about $15,000 per year. A postdoc
researcher (the first "real" astronomy job) generally pulls a salary of
around $30,000-$40,000. Faculty members at a university can make $60,000
to $100,000, depending on the university and their experience.
Thanks for writing!
Sincerely,
Kurtis Williams
