If you want to see a calender of the moon's phases for the next few years,
there are many web sites that can provide this information. One of them
is: http://www.googol.com/moon/

If you would like to know why we see phases of the moon, this is due to
the position of the Earth, the sun, and the moon. A web site explaining
this is:
http://starchild.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/StarChild/questions/phases.html
and its companion page,
http://starchild.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/StarChild/questions/question3.html
(beware that the diagram on the second page is poorly drawn).

Thanks for writing!

Sincerely,
