I personally am not familiar with Utah, but I can offer you a few hints
on finding the best place to go stargazing. First, you want to get far
from large cities - at least 40 minutes to an hour outside of a city.
If you want even better skies, consider trying to find mountain to drive
to the top of. Generally, though, the view is not that much better from
the top of the mountain, unless you are a very experienced observer. In
addition, mountain roads are dangerous at night - the view often isn't
worth the risk. Also, weather can get strange on mountains - sudden cloud
formations, wind storms, and other bad weather can arise rather quickly.
So, the best place to go is just far from the city.
