Hello Johnny,
I'm not terribly familiar with the area around Palo Alto, but the best
places to view the meteor shower would be those far from lights. If I
recall, there are several parks in the interior of the Pennensula, as
well as along the ocean. The meteor shower itself is best seen only
after midnight (luckily the moon won't be in the way), with the radiant
(the point from which most meteors seem to come) in the eastern sky.
Sorry I can't be more specific, but, again, heading west from Palo Alto
would be your best bet.
Thanks for writing!
Sincerely,
Kurtis Williams
