What is the speed of light? Does time stand still for an observer traveling at the speed of light?

Hello Gary,

The speed of light is 299,792,458 meters per second.
I'm not sure if the speed of light is know to better
precision than that. As you move at faster and
faster velocities (approching the speed of light),
then your time - as observed by someone who is not
moving at relativistic speeds - begins to slow down.
But to you, traveling near the speed of light, time
seems to progress normally. Time, as observed by
somone at "rest" does appear to stop for the person
traveling at the speed of light.

Best wishes,
Debra Fischer
