Are there pictures showing how the sun moves in response to the gravitational pull of the planets?

Status: O

Hello,

I know that this has been calculated, as I have seen pictures for what
the sun's motion around our solar system's barycenter (the center of
gravity), and the motion is quite compolex. Jupiter has the largest
effect by far, and Saturn has a lesser effect, with most of the rest of
the planets causing only minor effects.

I believe this picture should be at a NASA website (www.nasa.gov),
perhaps under one of their missions to look for planets. These missions
include "Kepler", "SIM", and "Terrestial Planet Finder".

If you don't find it there, please write back and I will do some more
digging, but one of those web sites should have such a graph.

For your information, these maps are done with computer simulations; the
N-body problem for the motion of planets is impossible to solve for more
than two objects.

Sincerely,
