Hello,
Well, I'll just tell you a few important facts about the Sun and then
point you in the right direction to find out more:
+ The Sun has a mass of 2*10^33 grams (that's 2 with 33 zeroes after it!)
+ It has a diameter of 1.4*10^11 cm (or about 900,000 miles, over 100
times larger than Earth)
+ It is 1.5*10^13 cm away (about 93 million miles; it takes light 8
minutes to reach us from the Sun)
To find out more, there is an excellent resource on the World Wide
Web: http://www.seds.org/nineplanets/nineplanets/sol.html
This has a lot of fascinating information about the Sun, as well as
pictures and a very complete list of Sun-related links.
