Hello,

There are some very detailed charts on the standard model of the sun in
John Bahcall's book _Neutrino Astrophysics_, esp. table 4.4, pp. 90-93.
The solar convection zone starts at R ~ 0.7*solar radius and continues
out to the surface.

The canonical reference on stellar structure is _Stellar Structure and
Evolution_ by Kippenhahn and Weigert, but it is not exactly easy reading.

Good luck, and let me know if you need more assistence.

Sincerely,
Kurtis Williams
