Hi Fred,
Telescope collimation is a common task for owners of reflecting
telescopes. If you bought your telescope from a major manufacturer
(Meade, Celestron, Orion, etc) they should have provided documentation for
collimation. However, there are a few places I found that you can find
how-to information. The first is located at:
http://zebu.uoregon.edu/~mbartels/kolli/kolli.html
and seems to be thorough.
There is also a list of several pages dealing with telescope making (and
collimation would be part of this) available from Yahoo! at
http://dir.yahoo.com/Science/Astronomy/Telescopes/Amateur/Telescope_Making/
To be honest, I have never collimated a telescope. But I wish you luck,
and I hope you can find the information you need through one of these
sites! Please let me know if there is any other way in which I can help.
Sincerely,
Kurtis Williams
