Here you can find some facts about me
I'm a postdoctoral researcher (Swiss National Science Foundation fellowship) at the Department for Astronomy & Astrophysics at University of California Santa Cruz. I did my doctorate in science at the Institute of Astronomy at ETH Zurich with Marcella Carollo and with Ben Moore at the Institute for Theoretical Physics at University Zurich.
Originally, I'm from Rotkreuz (Risch), Canton Zug, Switzerland and lived there all my life before I moved to Santa Cruz in October 2006. You can find some beautiful pictures of my Swiss homeland canton Zug here.
As a hobby, I'm playing cornet and trumpet very actively. In Switzerland, I played for 15 years in a championship section british-style brass band called Musikgesellschaft Risch-Rotkreuz, whereof the last 9 years as principal cornet player. I was also member of the Swiss Army Brass Band and the National Youth Brass Band (NJBB) of Switzerland. During Fasnacht (carnival) season, I played in a Guggemusig (carnival band) called Oohregrööbler. Here in Santa Cruz, I started playing in the Santa Cruz City Band and the UCSC Wind Ensemble.
