Music

I'm a passionate music lover

I love music of nearly all kinds: from classical, jazz, rock to pop. I myself am a cornet and trumpet player for more than 20 years. So there is a little bias that I love mainly music that involves some brass.

In Switzerland, I played for 15 years in a championship section british-style brass band called Musikgesellschaft Risch-Rotkreuz, whereof the last 10 years as principal cornet player. I was also member of the Swiss Army Brass Band, one of the elite orchestras of the Swiss army, and the National Youth Brass Band (NJBB) of Switzerland. During Fasnacht (carnival) season, I played in a Guggemusig (carnival band) called Oohregrööbler. Here in Santa Cruz, I started playing in the Santa Cruz City Band and the UCSC Wind Ensemble. Recently, I also started playing the cornett together with Bill Mathews here at UCSC.

In had the pleasure to work together with musicians, composers and conductors like Philippe Bach, Armin Bachmann, Raphael Christen Paul Cosh, Ray Farr, Roland Fröscher James Gourlay, Edward Gregson, David King, Immanuel Richter, Thomas Rüedi, Carl Rütti, Branimir Slokar, Andreas Spörri, Markus Theinert or Jan van der Roost.

I performed in venues such as the Auditorium Stravinski in Montreux, the concert hall of the KKL Lucerne, the Gasteig in Munich or the Münster in Bern.
