This may involve anything from a simple update of information to scanning and uploading of graphics to a complete redesign of the page. A common request is to create web-accessible publicity photos and presentations materials for media and scientific use, in a variety of formats and resolutions appropriate to print and web applications. Graphics SupportRobin will assist faculty in creating print and/or web graphics. She will scan, modify, sharpen, color correct, and print or distribute per your instructions. A variety of file formats and resolutions are available.
Page Charge and Reprint FormsRobin will process page charge and reprint forms for you. Bring forms to the Publications Office, ISB Room 155. She will need to know:
You may mail these to robin@ucolick.org or use the publications webform to submit all required information. Or you may forward your acceptance email from the Journal, along with your charge split, funding, and reprint information. Robin will obtain a PO number and forward the page charge form to the publisher and any charge-splitting institutions. She will also insure that the publisher bills you correctly, and supplies the correct number of legibly printed reprints.
Publications DistributionWhen a lead author orders reprints, Publications will distribute them to coauthors per your instructions. The cost of mailing the reprints to co-authors is covered by the Publications Office. Publications Assistant Rob Gargett in ISB 154 will also mail out reprints or other published materials to lists of recipients, using your mail code. Email him at pihelp@ucolick.org.
Technical ReportsUCO/Lick Observatory Technical Reports (LOTRs) are mostly data and procedure manuals for Lick Observatory telescopes and instruments, written by our technicians and astronomers. They are provided free of charge to telescope users by the Publications Office. To receive a report, email the report title or number plus your mailing address to robin@ucolick.org. Observers are also welcome to stop by the Publications Office, ISB Room 155, on the UCSC campus, to browse the available Reports. View list of current Technical Reports. |
