CLICKER TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS FROM eINSTRUCTION ============================================== Joining the class ----------------- Timing is a very important part of the joining equation. After about 2 minutes of inactivity, a pad will go into standby mode, and not let the student join the session. Students should keep their clickers powered off until right before the instructor engages the quiz. Once the instructor is ready to engage, students should power on their clickers. The instructor's receiver will send out a signal inviting the registered students clickers' serial numbers to join. It might take a moment for all students to all join; the receiver sends out a signal for so many at a time and then cycles through. If the students are unable to join at this point, they should press any key on the pad and press send. Their clicker should then switch over to TMA or SMA mode. The receivers have a radius of 200 ft. If a student is outside this range, he/she should walk in closer to the receiver in order to join. Clicker hard reset instructions ------------------------------- * Remove the batteries from the clicker. * Hold down any button for a full 30 seconds. * Replace the batteries, preferably with the fresh ones. The circuitry inside the clicker is packed tightly and very small. Even tiny amounts of static buildup can affect those components so the hard reset is very helpful.
