Personal
Short Biography:
I was born and raised in San Diego, California
and had such a good time/childhood that I decided to stay
local for college and attended UCSD. There I majored in Physics
(with specialization in Astrophysics!),
minored in Philosophy, and enjoyed myself more than
I had thought physically possible.
After that I had a great time learning and living in
UC Santa Cruz's Astronomy & Astrophysics graduate (PhD) program.
And now I'm continuing my research as a Post-Doc,
leading Intro to Astronomy classes here at UCSC,
and working with ISEE to improve undergraduate science eduation.
On top of that I train as frequently as possible
in Aikido (a japanese martial art)
and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
I enjoy rock-climbing and have been pushing outside
here and there again after a long gym-hibernation.
My best friend and wife, Kristel Dorighi, keeps life
both fun and unpredictable.
I have a twin brother, Chris, who looks nothing like me.
I love writing computer codes to do silly or sophisticated things.
I am both blessed and cursed with a very porous memory.
I try to stay centered in life and keep my gaze up.
Trying to maintain balance between all my passions, friends,
work, and sleep is a constant and looks to be a life-long
practice.
If you would like to find out more, my increasingly outdated
Personal website will hopefully suffice.
