The information in the document regarding Joseph Allen seems suspect, for Charity Allen is seen in the 1850 census to be living with a Tadlock family, possibly her brother. That would tend to support the notion that Joseph Allen was dead by 1850, which is contrary to the document.

The notion that Joseph Allen served in the Revolutionary War demands that the JT Allen document have the dates wrong, for he could not have died in the given year with the given age and been old enough to participate in the war.
