      Welcome to Yicheng's Homepage

I am a postdoc in UCO/ Lick Observatory, studying galaxy formation and evolution across cosmic time.

My research interests focus on using multi-wavelength observations to study the formation of the Hubble sequence. Particularly, I am interested in studying physical properties of giant clumps in distant galaxies that were actively forming stars 10 billion years ago. I am also interested in investigating the connection between morphology, color, and physical properties of galaxies. I am a co-investigator of CANDELS (Cosmic Assembly Near-infrared Deep Extragalactic Legacy Survey), the largest program in the history of the Hubble Space Telescope.

I received my PhD degree in University of Massachusetts Amhers in September, 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Mauro Giavalisco. Before coming to UMASS, I studied in the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei, China.
