March 28, 2000, UCSC High Bay Status:
Slider 1, Slider 2 and the Dummy slider all on Side 'A' and a counterweight moving in opposition.

After a short while of studying all the friction sources in the slide and adding a shear plate sufficient to control the end load on the ball screw, we are back in business.

Friction looks to be about 1 to 2 amps with the little power supply, at 270 degree Position Angle. (Horizontal and at the bottom)

I next manually rotated DEIMOS to 180 degrees. This puts the slide on your left while standing in front. This tests the drive motor lifting and lowering. It feels good when moving by hand, but Ken Dietsch will help make torque measurements this afternoon.

Hopefully, I will have some Excel plots to look at later today.
