Problem: Immediate Crash Of saomot1

Manifestation:

• saomot1 crashes and does not stay running. saomot.stderr has the following information:

Workaround:

• 2017-03-10: W. Deich temporarily worked around the problem encountered by saomot1.
  Will look at it more leisurely, later, to figure out the correct permanent fix.

• Unknown.
