SHARCS Problem: Error Setting Keyword GO:SHARCS Error (15)

Manifestation:

• Attempts to take exposure in sharcs_fe are met with following error:

   
     Error setting keyword GO:SHARCS Error (15): No write permission. Check filename and outdir. 
     

Solution/Recovery:

• user@covert.ucolick.org > rdesktop stealthie.ucolick.org
• When presented with Windows environment, select Start... My Computer...
• Listed under the heading Network Drives, should be:

  public on 'Samba Server Version X.X.X-XXX (covert)'(Z:) Network Drive

  If this is not the case, then left-click the text public on 'Samba... to mount the disk.

Other possible actions:

• In sharcs_fe GUI:
  • Select Windows...
  • Select Setup...
  • Verify filename and outdir are as stipulated in the (HxRG_CustomManual_WeissMod_v3.pdf) document:

     
       UnixRootDir: /data 
       WinRootDir: Z:\ 
       OutDir: sharcs 
       

  • Verify/re-start keyword grabber:

    user@accession: /usr/local/lick/etc/init.d ao_keygrabber status

  Cause:

  • Disk of covert.ucolick.org not mounted/invisible to stealthie.ucolick.org.
