Clicking on the minimized window and selecting close returns a SAVE? pop-up window asking Save changes to Test before exiting?, the response to which is No.

  • The following error message:

  • stealthie.ucolick.org unable to mount /data disk on covert.ucolick.org, even following a re-start of smb on covert.ucolick.org.
  • Solution/Recovery:

    • Re-start sharcs.sh.
    • Verify integrity of USB port and cable on stealthie.ucolick.org.
    • Prepare to back-up, copy repositories, remove and re-installTeledyne Scientific Sidecar ASIC IDE sofware on Windows XP (Version 2002, Service Pack 3) host: stealthie.ucolick.org.
    • On stealthie.ucolick.org: copy all relevant directories and files (e.g. /Test, /HxRG/Test.soln, /HxRG/DefaultJade2Registers.xml, etc.) to a logically named (e.g. date stamped) back-up directory.
    • Locate source files in cvs repository (e.g. user@shred.ucolick.org:/u/will/cvs/install/stealthie/). Copy (e.g. using WinSCP) relevant repositories containing installer files (e.g. /10-software/ktzipstore_2025293777.zip) to stealthie.ucolick.org.
    • On stealthie.ucolick.org, remove pre-existing (suspected corrupted) version of Sidecar ASIC IDE software:
      • Select Windows Start icon.
      • Select Control Panel... menu item.
      • Select Programs... menu item.
      • Select Programs and Features... menu item.
      • Locate and select Sidecar ASIC IDE from list.
      • Select Uninstall.
    • On stealthie.ucolick.org: uncompress the relevant installer files (e.g. ktzipstore_2025293777.zip).
    • On stealthie.ucolick.org: run the relevant Sidecar Server installer.
    • On stealthie.ucolick.org: From previously-created logically named (e.g. date stamped) back-up directory, copy relevant directories and files (e.g. /Test, /HxRG/Test.soln, /HxRG/DefaultJade2Registers.xml, etc.) to relevant destination sub-directories (e.g. C:\Program Files\Teledyne Scientific\Sidecar ASIC IDE).
    • Run the Sidecar ASIC IDE program and proceed in accordance with the Starting ShARCS instructions.

Note: failures to progress may result from absent or mis-placed support files: Actions taken (e.g. connect, init) in the ShARCS GUI on the linux/VNC host may trigger pop-up error messages in the Sidecar ASIC IDE window on the stealthie.ucolick.org Windows XP host.

    Cause:

    • Corrupted Sidecar ASIC IDE software, possibly caused by uncontrolled shut-down(s) /power-cycles of stealthie.ucolick.org.

The recommended method to shutdown stealthie.ucolick.org is via rdesktop:

      • Select Start icon.
      • Select Run... menu item.
