NOTE: This is not the solar telescope. It's the Great Lick Refractor, not for viewing the sun.
We are pleased to announce that Lick Observatory will provide close-up, safe viewing of the May 20th, 2012 partial solar eclipe through a solar telescope (SolarMax II).
Lick Observatory visitor center and gift shop will be open until 7:00 pm on May 20. Visitors can purchase eclipse viewing glasses at a nominal charge in the gift shop.
Special thanks to Friends of Lick Observatory volunteer Greg Swisher for staffing the solar scope.
