View through Solar Telescope

We are pleased to announce that Lick Observatory will provide close-up, safe viewing of the May 20th, 2012 partial solar eclipe through a solar telescope (SolarMax II).

Lick Observatory visitor center and gift shop will be open until 7:00 pm on May 20. Visitors can purchase eclipse viewing glasses at a nominal charge in the gift shop.

Adjusted times for eclipse as seen from Mt. Hamilton:
Eclipse start: 5:15 PM PDT (00:17 UT)
Greatest eclipse: 6:33 PM PDT (01:33 UT)
Eclipse end: 7:40 PM PDT (02:40 UT)
