What is Matt Auger's LRIS Pipeline?

Matt Auger has put together a set of routines for reducing LRIS data. The package works akin to many other pipelines, the users puts together a list of information for the software to determine what frames are data and which are calibration. The result are one-dimensional wavelength calibrated spectra.
The big advantage of Matt's software is that it leverages a lot of work done by other people for big projects. SciPy, NumPY and PyFITS are all larger efforts for a broad community (PyFITS is supported by folks at HST for example).

Installation

Installing the package itself is straigtforward. The file is gzip'ed tar file of routines. This assumes that one has already installed the other required software.
