What is Matt Auger's LRIS Pipeline?
Matt Auger has put together a set of routines for reducing LRIS data. The package works akin to many other pipelines, the users puts together a list of information for the software to determine what frames are data and which are calibration. The result are one-dimensional wavelength calibrated spectra.
The big advantage of Matt's software is that it leverages a lot of work done by other people for big projects. SciPy, NumPY and PyFITS are all larger efforts for a broad community (PyFITS is supported by folks at HST for example).
