Procedure: Contact FAA Northern California Terminal Radar Approach Control:

Contact:

  • Identify as Lick Observatory.
  • Provide 24 hours advance notification of intent to commence propagations of Laser Guide Star.
  • Provide at least 15 minutes advance notification of intent to commence propagations of Laser Guide Star.
  • Provide notification of completion of Laser Guide Star propagations (e.g. at end og night, in case of bad weather, technical loss).
  • Also Contact USAF Space Command.

   FAA NORTHERN CALIFORNIA TERMINAL RADAR APPROACH CONTROL (Tel: 916-366-4019) 
    
   * The requisite 24 hours advance notice of LGS operation 
   was provided. 
    
   * PENDING: FAA should be called again at least 15 mins in 
   advance of LGS operation on each night of the current AO 
   run (also providing the required 24 hours notice for each 
   subsequent night). 
    
   * PENDING: USAF SPACE COMMAND (Tel: 805-605-6546) should be 
   called a minimum of 1 hour before LGS operation.
