Lodging & Transportation

UCSC Visitor Parking requires a $5.50 daily permit. Between 7:00am and 8:00pm you may purchase this permit at the kiosk just inside the main entrance to UCSC. Please see UCSC Transportation & Parking for more details, as well as public transportation and airport service links.

You will find links to campus maps at http://www2.ucsc.edu/taps/pages/maps.html.

Symposium is at the University Center. These directions are included in all "Directions to Symposium from Hotel/Motel" links (pdf files) below, under each suggested accommodation.

• Enter the UCSC campus at the Main Entrance at Bay Drive and High Street.
• Stop at the kiosk just inside the entrance for a parking permit.
• At the second traffic light, turn Left on Hagar Drive.
• At the end of Hagar Drive, turn Left onto McLaughlin Drive.
• At the end of McLaughlin Drive, turn Left on Heller Drive and make an immediate Left turn into the Parking Structure.
• Note that many parking spaces are reserved or short-term in the first ground-floor level, and exiting (on foot) from East or North is most direct.

Walk from Parking Structure to University Center: ~ 7 minutes

• Return to McLaughlin Drive walking in the direction from which you just drove.
• Walk past the large (new) Physical Sciences building on your right, and past the bus stop.
• Walk across a concrete bridge (over a ravine) to the crosswalk. Cross McLaughlin Drive at the crosswalk and follow the signs up the diagonal path to the University Center.

We will have shuttle bus service to and from the Coast Santa Cruz Hotel and the Hilton Santa Cruz/Scotts Valley only. Please arrange your own transportation if you select another accommodation. Schedule as follows:
