The SDSS DLA Survey

These pages give tables and figures of DLA identified in the SDSS. We also provide the papers of reference for this material.

Data Products

  • Published SDSS DR3 Table: This table gives the DLA published in PHW05. Unfortunately, although we introduced an algorithm to avoid having the OVI/Lyb QSO emission line from biasing our g(z), the algorithm was not properly implemented for the results in this paper. The overall effect is an increase of ~10% in f(N) at all redshifts.
  • Corrected SDSS DR3 Table: This table gives the correct DR3 results, corrected for the error described above.
  • Proximate DLA
  • DR5 DLA: This table gives the full set of DLA from the DR5 which now includes a total of 730 DLAs in the statistical sample and over 1000 DLAs total. It is, of course, inclusive with the DR3. As the results have not markedly changed from our DR3 analysis, we are not inclined to write a separate publication at this time. If you make use of any of these new DLA or the numbers presented in the summary tables, please refer to the DR3 publication (Prochaska, Herbert-Fort & Wolfe 2005).
